#Technology: Cold foil – a response to our customers’ needs

One of the most important elements of our new machinery portfolio is the Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 with FoilStar technology – a nine-colour offset press with coating, a dual UV drying system and inline cold foil capabilities. This allows us to perform more operations in a single pass, reducing the number of additional production stages. For our customers, this means greater flexibility in packaging design and new possibilities for creating premium effects.

Cold foil has been introduced at Preston Packaging for a reason. It is a response to the growing interest of our customers in this technology and another addition to the range of solutions we can offer for packaging production. For us, it is another option within our broad portfolio of finishing technologies – a solution that can be tailored to a specific project, desired effect and packaging concept.

Until now, our customers have been able to use technologies such as hot stamping. Cold foil now joins it, giving you even greater freedom of choice. It is not about replacing one technology with another. It is about expanding the possibilities. Depending on the project, we can recommend the solution that best matches the desired visual effect, packaging structure, product characteristics and budget.

When expanding our machinery portfolio, we do not simply want to add more technologies to our offer. We listen to our customers and observe how their needs are evolving.
